Seeing the way God uses color in his creation inspires my art and gives me a clearer view of His love for me and you. I'm inspired by the sparks of emotion I feel when I see color, and I hope you feel those sparks when you view my work.

Living Room Switch-a-roo

Here we go, projects number two and three of our Labor Day weekend productivity. I finished up my wave painting and we got it hung above the couch. We also changed out our green couch slipcover for a white one and switched the furniture around just a little bit.

Here's what the art and sofa looked like up until this weekend. Lovely, but we were (okay, I was) ready for another change. It was quite the change this time.

Ya ready??

Drum roll pleeeease...

tada!

Bright, huh? We're still getting used to the bright white couch but I gotta say, I loove it.

I'd love to get some more pattern in the couch pillows (maybe ikat??) and maybe an area rug, though Chris has yet to be convinced that it's okay to put a rug on top of carpet.

Here's a close-up of the detail on the painting. I don't think it's very clear in this picture but there are lots of different purples, blues, oranges and even some green thrown in there. I get a little jolt of happiness every time I walk around the corner and see that painting hanging there.

Chris thinks it's funny that it looks like we're about to get demolished by a monster wave when we sit on the couch.

We moved one of the LACK coffee tables out from the corner and switched it to this side of the couch. I sit on this side more often, so the lamp is more useful for reading and blogging stuff. Plus, I like the focal point it creates.

You can see a little peek of our new curtains. I'll share the deets on those next week. :)

So what do you think? Do you like the new look? Think the green couch was better? Can't imagine living with a bright white couch? If you have a white couch, I'd love any tips on keeping it sparkling (aside from covering it in a plastic sheath, haha!)
